Francesca Masoero is a curator, researcher and cultural project manager. She is co-director and curator at LE18, an independent art space in Marrakech, where she initiated Qanat in 2017. She is also a founding member of Madrassa Collective, a trans-national curatorial platform. She was a speaker in our feedforward_morocco event.
With a background in critical theory and political economy, Francesca is interested in exploring interdisciplinary research, curatorial methodologies and collaborative, socially-engaged art practices, investigating their potential as forms of resistance and as forces of transformation. All of this in the context of late capitalism transformations both in peripheral geographies more generally, and in the Mediterranean region specifically.
